1. How the Contract is Formed
After placing an order, you will receive an e-mail from us confirming that your order is being processed. We will charge your credit or debit card at the time of checkout.
All orders are subject to acceptance by us by sending you an e-mail confirming dispatch (the Dispatch Confirmation), at which stage the contract is formed. If we cannot fulfil your order for any reason, we will let you know as soon as possible and provide a full refund.
2. Consumer Rights
If you are contracting as a consumer, you may cancel a contract at any time within 14 calendar days, beginning on the day after you received the Products. In this case, you will receive a full refund of the price paid for the Products in accordance with our refunds policy.
To cancel a contract, you must inform us in writing or by sending an email to http://www.britishhypermarket.com/. You must return the Product(s) to us as soon as possible at the Customer Service Address above in an unused, undamaged condition. You are responsible for paying the cost of returning the Product(s).

Except where a Product is defective, you may not cancel a contract for the supply of any of the following:
- Products produced or altered to your own specification;
- Perishable goods, including fresh foods or plants;
- DVDs or CDs where you have broken the seal;
3. Availability and Delivery
We aim to dispatch your order within 72 hours of receipt and it should be with you within 2 to 10 working days of dispatch (Most European destinations 2 to 5 working days, non-European countries 4 to 10 working days approximately). UK weekends and Bank holidays are not classed as working days. Because we use a third-party delivery service, these times are estimates and not guarantees. However, please let us know if you do not receive your order in good time and we will look into the matter. Delivery times may be longer for certain products.
Where a product is out of stock we will offer you a refund or, where you have agreed, provide a substitute product.
All descriptions, product images and weights are those of the original manufacture and are intended to give a general description of the goods. The weight to be shipped includes the weight of packaging for the goods.
If purchasing chilled items, these will be delivered separately. You will be supplied with an estimated delivery date, and subsequently a tracking number which will enable you to access accurate details of the delivery progress and status of your parcel online. You agree that either yourself or another person will be in to accept delivery of chilled items, and that British Hypermarket cannot be held responsible for chilled goods that spoil as a result of nobody being available to take delivery of the goods.
If purchasing chilled items and a parcel should arrive damaged, the driver will give you a document reporting the damage and may ask to stay and witness you open the box to check the contents. In this scenario, you must report it to British Hypermarket immediately and send British Hypermarket a copy of the papers. If the driver does not provide you with this document detailing the damage, any damaged box should be refused at the door.
4. Price and Payment
Prices include VAT (but this may change due to BREXIT and other changes within online Terms of Sales) but exclude delivery costs, which will be added to the total amount due before you place your order. You are given the option of correcting any errors before you confirm your order to us.
Prices are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect orders in respect of which we have already sent you a Dispatch Confirmation.
If we have made a pricing error by displaying a lower price than the correct price, we will either contact you for instructions before dispatching the Product or reject your order and notify you of such rejection. If the pricing error is unmistakeable, we are under no obligation to provide the product to you at the incorrect (lower) price.
If we have incorrectly displayed a higher price, we will confirm the correct price to you in the Dispatch Confirmation and refund the difference to your card.
We will charge your credit or debit card at the time of checkout.
All payments shall be made in United Kingdom pounds sterling unless specified otherwise. Please note that British Hypermarket cannot be held responsible for adverse currency fluctuations. The conversion rate is set at the point of authorisation of your credit/debit card.
For Wholesales Orders prices will vary due to quanties being bought. Discounts are offered based on case by cace scenario and type of product being purchased. All wholesales order are quoted Excluding Vat and Exworks Terms. All quotes to be be formally sent via email and purchase order. Wholesalers/Distributors are urged to contacting us prioring to making any large pruchases. All wholesale orders to be prepaid before goods are dispatched. Payments methods accepted PAYPAL/CHAPS/BAQS or Credit Card.
5. Refunds and Returns
British Hypermarket strives for a quick, easy, and positive return experience and has established the following guidelines in the event a purchase must be returned or exchanged:
Occasionally, a mistake in shipment could occur. If this does happen, and you receive the incorrect goods, British Hypermarket will provide a refund for the cost of the goods.
To receive a refund, you must notify us within 5 business days of receipt of goods.
We do accept returns of erroneous goods provided they are:
- In good, saleable condition.
- Within their "sell-by" or "use-by" date.
- In original packaging with seals intact.
Items we DO NOT accept as returns:
- Baby Food
- Baby Milk
- Bread Cakes
- Perishable Items
- Used Items
- Damaged Items
British Hypermarket customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
If we receive your order returned undeliverable due to incorrect address or the shipping carrier was unable to deliver your package, British Hypermarket will gladly re-ship or refund your order. If your order is re-shipped, additional shipping charges will be required.
British Hypermarket uses SagePay and Worldpay as our payment providers. All refunds are provided through the payment provider you chose at checkout. Exchange rates differ per payment provider and British Hypermarket has no control over payment provider exchange rates.
If you receive your order damaged, contact British Hypermarket within 24 hours. We will require photographic evidence of the damage so that we may make a claim with the shipping courier. Please keep all packaging in the event the courier requires this for the damage claim. These steps must be followed to ensure the courier accepts liability and to avoid any disputes.
British Hypermarket reserves the right to restrict or refuse returns, refunds, and exchanges.
Import Duty and Customs
If you order Products from our site for delivery outside the UK, they may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the delivery reaches the specified destination. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount (for more information, please contact us).
Please also note that you must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country for which the products are destined. We will not be liable for any breach by you of any such laws.
The bovine goods advised on this website have been produced in accordance with the Bovines and Bovines Products (Trade) Regulations 1999.
It is also illegal to take personal exports of bovine products out of the country, unless accompanied by the appropriate veterinary certification.

British Hypermarket Gift and Food Cards are not for resale, are not redeemable for cash or monetary credit and cannot be returned for a cash or credit refund.
A lost or stolen British Hypermarket Gift or Food Card cannot be replaced without the original proof of purchase, and replacement of such card will be with another of the same type of card having the credit balance only as shown by our records.
